and tickets are already on sale.

Almost a year from now......

Now I hope like everyone does that those shows come off. But I believe I'm gonna hold off on buying tickets!!!

For the record - the tickets for the canceled January shows never went on sale, so there is nothing to refund.

I don't know the business; but my guess is that the artists are protected in their contracts with the right to reschedule within a certain time frame

There are no guarantees to the audience, an artist can always reschedule or cancel, with or without expense depending on the contract. It just seems pretty strange not to have it scheduled sooner. Unless they have real concerns that he'll make the date at all in the reasonably near future.

The Chattanooga show is rescheduled for June. Those tickets never went on sale either for the original January date.

The odd thing is they rescheduled it the same night as the first night of our summer Riverbend Festival, which could kill ticket sales.

Either way, you can usually get a refund from the venue if the date of the show changes.
