Gregg sits in with TTB

I would not exactly call it smooth though.
or

please don't re unite the Allman Brothers Band....

Ouch.
I guess Butch and Jaimoe speed is a tad slower than TTB speed.

Derek has a consistent "Am I the only one on this stage that knows this $#@$% song?" vibe going on throughout...:P

The band played it fine. Gregg can't keep up at the original pace. Been that way for years.

I enjoyed watching it despite it all. Similar to when Dickey sat in with TTB and band had learned songs in original tempos and keys, IMHO.

Definitely. LOL. When Gregg starts singing the first time. Derek looks puzzled.

That was painful. At one point, I think Derek was trying to talk to Gregg, almost like leading him through it.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

Yes on both accounts.....

that was a mess...........

To be fair, it can be hard to sit in with another band on a big stage like that. What the crowd hears isn't necessarily the mix that Gregg could hear, it can be an adjustment. I'm not saying this was great, but Gregg's band can still play this tune, and plenty others, at a solid pace. Derek sat in with Gregg last summer on "Southbound" and it was fine.
Who was the goofy guitarist with the glasses and the front ducktail?

The tragedy/comedy is that seeing Derek cueing Gregg brought back memories of when he used to do this throughout ABB shows. Both sad and nostalgic at the same time.

I think that's Luther Dickenson from the North Miss Allstars

That was atrocious...and I can be a GA apologist at times. Dickey's sit-in was infinitely better...Blue Sky was good and Liz Reed suffered b/c DB n GS altered the arrangement but was still somewhat enjoyable. Gregg wrecked that train before it left the depot.

He comes in on the wrong lyric and it completely sucks. It is as bad as Dickey's sit in.
And it's bizarre, he's been playing this song for decades and probably played it a night or two before.
Someone explain how the H Gregg can screw this up at this point????
No. nevermind. it was autopen.

If its going to be a trainwreck anyway, why not take a chance and play something out of the ordinary instead of One Way Out for the 10K time? I sense this may be why Derek has expressed reluctance about doing any further Allman Bros show.

Wow, that's kinda sad. Awesome that they invited him to sit in, but he was brutal.

Derek looks puzzled 'cause GA starts on the second verse!
No. please no ABB reunion, the only original members not screwing things up will be the drummers. GA and DB have increasing train wreck potential. Recall lost last BB King gigs, don't go there....

Makes me wonder, Is it his hearing?......Timing?.......Could it be alcohol?

In fairness to Gregg, he has never been keen on improvisation....

Huh? This was pretty straight ahead. He began by singing the wrong verse and never really kept up throughout. Not too much improvising going on. As stated before, this is a song he's probably done 10,000 times and still does at every show. It really does remind me of the Dickey TTB Beacon sit in, a nice idea, but musically a bit sad.
All talk of an ABB reunion seems pretty far fetched, or just not a good idea.

Irony - it will never catch on...

That was brutal
I saw them the other night at Bethal Woods, they were awesome. The best I've seen them, tight yet very free flowing.
You know this isn’t the band missing the mark, rather someone else.
Could understand if it was a sound check/rehearsal, but wow. Come on Gregg step up or step out.
I feel bad for the band, they obviously rehearsed, and he didn’t.

Maybe they could try again!
Would love to see TTB and Gregg team up for Feel So Bad. I don't believe Gregg has done Feel So Bad with a full blown Gregg Allman Tour band personnel (extra vocalists, horns, slide etc) since the 70s. TTB is a perfect match to not only nail that original sound but I think it would be a killer addition to their permenant rotation.

Well that didn't go as planned.

Gotta wonder if he was or wasn't on enough of 'something', he sings like he can hardly move his lips right, like someone after a stroke. I wouldn't think he'd touch booze at this point, but pills are a real possibility.

Best case scenario is that the monitors on stage were horrible and he was just guessing.
Not likely.

He did finish strong. I'm just glad to see them together.

Agreed, and maybe that something out of the ordinary could be Don't Mess Up A Good Thing -- he's never done that in concert outside of the 74 tour -- same as what axeman mentioned about Feel So Bad -- real nice jump-blues type cover from the Laid Back album (Fontella Bass/Bobby McClure)
1 way or anthr, slack should be cut -- yes he might be past the point of things now but he's given us everything and still is -- he's always said he'll play til his last -- yes that was rough, he's had patches b4 like that onstage -- but he's still bro Gregg, you rock bro

I was at this show, the crowd went wild when Gregg walked out. He totally overshadowed the mention of Luther Dickinson also sitting in for that one.
My buddy and I were ecstatic that Gregg was there (he played that same venue two days later or something) but during and after the song we both looked at each other and said, WTF ?
It sure seemed like technical difficulties.
