1-23-15, different arrangement of the tune than I've ever heard. Gotta acknowledge my source, Alan Paul posted this on Facebook. Terrapin Crossroads is Phil Lesh's club in San Rafael in the Bay area.

Is that the main stage at Phil's place? Looks like everyone's all on top of each other, as if the band set up on a dining table or something.

Appreciate anyone who's been and able to shed some light.

Thanks

I can't answer your question islala because although I live in the Bay area, I haven't been to Terrapin Crossroads yet. The distance from me is reasonable (about 80 miles) but when Phil first opened it maybe 4 years back, what they were charging for shows was just insane. Anywhere from $150 - $250, but they were getting some really big names. I've heard the place is not very big, and with all the $$$ around here, people will pay to see someone in a small venue. I've heard prices have come down greatly although I haven't checked it out. $75 or less would be a guess. Do a search for the website and I'm sure you'd find out. The other thing is this: When I can see any number of shows within a 25 mile radius from me for $7 or less, often no cover at all, why would I drive 80 miles to pay those kind of prices?

I know sheep has been there..............Seth?

That's the bar.

The Grate Room holds about 500 and has a standard stage.

Havent been, well drove past it...seen many webstreams.

I was there this summer, saw Everyone Orchestra. I think tickets were $10. Great show. We had dinner first, as the restaurant is actually quite good and there's a small stage in the bar area (this is where Greg played). Then we walked over to the main room and it's still quite small (they call it "intimate") with great sound. I highly recommend it. Of course, I was staying with some folks in San Rafael so it was only a 10 minute drive for us.

I looked at www.terrapincrossroads.com. Here are some upcoming shows. All of the Dead re-creation shows and the Stanley Jordan shows are sold out so no prices are listed. I listed prices for the others. One of these days I'll make it up there.

1/29: Phil Lesh & Friends recreate a Grateful Dead show from 1968
2/6: Phil Lesh & Friends recreate a Grateful Dead show from 1969
2/7: Phil Lesh & Friends recreate a Grateful Dead show from 1970
2/13, 2/14, 2/15: Phil Lesh & Friends featuring Stanley Jordan
2/22: Los Lobos, $49
2/27, 2/28: Melvin Seals and Jerry Garcia Band: $25
4/6: Dark Star Orchestra, $49

Really does the tune justice, it always had a funky New Orleans soul. Got to be my favorite re-work of a Gregg classic by GA and friends. thanks for posting!

Grate room holds about 350-400 people, has a small bar, his restaurant also has music acts going on all day. Restaurant is great, food is good, staff are all very cool and courteous; but the really great thing is if you live a distance away, they usually offer a webcast for $7
(on www.terrapincrossroads.net go to tickets, then set up a log in, then go to webcasts)
can go on any given night and watch great live music from your living room, only drawback is for you east coasters may start around 11 pm (8 pm PST)
