what's the Iron City Jam like -- an ABB-sounding type instrumental? something more unique to his solo band?

Naw, I wouldn't say it's an ABB style jam at all - Gregg takes a break....more of a fast-paced rocker. Unique to this band I believe.

It's called Cradle of Civilization,I believe it is a jay collins composition.

Saw Gregg last night in Cherokee. The set list was a lot different than the one listed for B'Ham, but the band did play that jazzy instrumental while Gregg took a break. I assume it was the same one being discussed here. I hate to say my favorite part of the show was while Gregg was on break, but since it was new to me I really liked it a lot. Gregg was really strong. The last time I saw him was Beacon 2009 and he seemed a lot better now than then. It was a great show. The only complaint was that it seemed like everyone was trying to blind me with their smart phones.
