This was broadcast on 06-20-1977. I recorded it and added it to my digital library about two years ago.

Thanks very much for this. The part where Gregg discussed some things about Duane's passing & funeral really tore and teared me up, some difficult stuff in there I also have never heard Gregg speak of before. When the interviewer asks Gregg if there is anything he has never said before about Duane and Gregg says with such pain and heartache "I'd like to log in there that I loved him...and I still do", just got to me. Very deep, reflective, contemplative interview with alot of pain and confession. I think Gregg really wanted to set the record straight apart from the tabloids and show the human behind the rock star. He even stated in the beginning of the interview that the tabloids make money just from hurting people, I will agree there 100 percent. Great interview. Anyone know who conducted this?

With all the cathartic introspection and seriousness, I loved Gregg discussing his 1st & 2nd date with Cher which was very sweet, warm and hilarious! Really enjoyed this interview. Then when he gets seriousness again about how bad things ended (and the end of his marriage with Cher he discusses some stuff I have never heard him reveal before, the stuff about him going back to his psychologist in NY and the incident with the security guard), I am so happy that the 2 matured and found a deep wonderful mutual respect and friendship in their golden years.

Is the 49 min interview on YouTube all that exists? It was a 7 hour interview.

Gregg said he got the phone call about Duane's accident at 8:30 in the morning....
just goes to show how a shock to the system that severe, renders one unable to fully comprehend & jumbles up their memory -- how understandable it is, the very varying memories among so many, of that day --
This is well explained in the italicized intro to the chapter about 10/29/71 in Johnny Sandlin's Musical Odyssey
RIP Gregg
RIP Butch
just feel compelled to write that, also belated thanks Vince, glad I got caught up w/the thread
