Gregg Allman Band | Live in SF 1984

If you've ever been curious how Dan Toler would play on a coked out, light-speed "Dreams"

Things go better with Coke!! Or so they think. Gregg admitted some of the drugs made you think you were just throwing down but when you heard a tape later it wasn't close to how good you thought it was.
Supposedly Dickey was letting Dan Toler use some of his guitars when Great Southern formed in late 1976 and in 1979 they were in the Allman Brothers and Dickey gave Dan the sunburst Les Paul Dickey was using when At Fillmore East was recorded so that is probably it on this recording.
Sound pretty hot so far to me. Thanks for sharing.

I got through 1:00 minute of Dreams. The tempo was SO off and Gregg's voice was SO bad..........just could not take anymore.

@robslob Oh. Remember Porkchopbob said it is a Coked out version:)
Yeah it's not a good show all things considered but I thought Danny Toler was playing some decent guitar.
I don't remember telling this before but maybe I did. In 1987 I was backstage at a theatre where I would serve as a volunteer usher for special events and as I was walking by a dressing room, a door opened and I looked as it opened and I recognized Willie Perkins at the door and Gregg was seated at a table just behind him snorting up something...likey cocaine...and Willie shut the door immediately. I assume he wasn't expecting to see someone in the hall.
And that show was similar to this one. Not that good.
Also remember people yelling for Slip Away, a Clarence Carter cover Gregg had been doing, and Gregg Allman finally responded to those people telling them he pulled it from the set because it needs more work. That they are going to bring it back after they have a chance to rehearse it more.
I haven't played my copies of I'm No Angel and Just Before The Bullets Fly in several years, but Slip Away is on one of those late 80's albums by Gregg.
