Great news, Gregg Allman fans!
After canceling his tour schedule last month, the beloved Allman Brothers Band founder has confirmed his first show. Allman will hit the big stage on Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on September 25th, playing his scheduled Laid Back Festival with his solo band.
Allman says in a statement, “I just can’t wait to get back out there… I’ve gotten so stir crazy these last few weeks. I feel best when I’m traveling and playing. That’s what keeps me going, and there’s no better place to start than Red Rocks.” ZZ Top, Richie Furay Band, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Gabriel Kelley, Lucie Silvas, Levon and People’s Blues Of Richmond will also be performing at the festival.

Gregg Allman, who was forced to cancel several tour dates due to “serious health issues,” has announced he will make his return to the stage when his own Laid Back Festival comes to Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre on September 25.
In a press release, Allman is said to have been “given a clean bill of health from his doctors” and chose the Red Rocks show as his return due to his history with the iconic venue. Allman will be joined by his guitarist Scott Sharrard for an acoustic set at the festival before headliners ZZ Top take the stage. “I just can’t wait to get back out there,” Allman says in the release. “I’ve gotten so stir crazy these last few weeks. I feel best when I’m traveling and playing. That’s what keeps me going, and there’s no better place to start than Red Rocks.”Allman will also appear at the Laid Back Fest in Atlanta on October 29 and will play a 10-night residency at New York’s City Winery starting November 6.

That's great to news indeed. Also an acoustic set, that's gonna be a good show.

Great news.
So Gregg is only doing an acoustic set with Scott? The release was worded a bit awkwardly.

So glad that Gregg is back up on his feet again ...
And if you are feeling well enough Sir, we would love to see you back in the UK again sometime ...

Wish him well and hope he isn't rushing back too soon.

Fantastic news!!!

Gregg is back!
Hope he can stay healthy and keep doing what he loves.
Enjoy the show everyone who is going.

Wonderful to hear!! Does this mean all dates after September 25th will be honored??

Allman’s performance at Laid Back Red Rocks will be his only performance of summer 2016. After that, he’ll appear at Laid Back Atlanta on October 29th and the 10 rare and intimate club dates for his annual residency at City Winery in New York beginning November 6th.
This is from a 09.06.16 press release posted on Gregg's website.
