I agree. I never would have thought of that song , but it was PERFECT for WH.
I know we all know this ,but Warren is just an amazing musician and the diversity he brings to the table is far beyond many. Maybe not to my taste all the time, but still respectable none the less.
I think it was very cool of WH and the Mule to bring Bernie with them to some shows. It just shows the respect that Warren has for musicians. It pleasantly surprised me when he did. I guess they have in the past and I just missed it. Would love to hear them write a song or two together.
Its fun to watch Warren behind Bernie when he plays his solo. Warrens lead on this is great as always. Blue Sky is a good song to show a guitar players melodic sense of direction when playing the solo.
Bernie really nails the solo in Blue Sky , plays to the song and what it needs but adds his own touch and flavor. THAT IS a guitar player.
Go back to the 4:35 mark and for about 15 sec's plays some sweet sounding melody licks. Nothing fancy just very tasteful and flows right with the song. Once again that is a guitarplayer.

The call and response interplay starting around the 7:20 mark is a thrill to watch. Gives me chills.
