Gov't Mule - Holland International Blues Festival, Grolloo, 06-10-2017

Great Mule show last saturday at the Holland International Blues Festival, Grolloo, Netherlands.
They headlined the second day of this festival. Massive stage in a huge tent. Approx. 9000 people in attendance. Other acts: James Hunter, Magpie Salute, Vintage Trouble and The Fabulous Thunderbirds.
Bought "Revolution Come, Revolution Go" and had it signed by all 4 Mule members.
The sound was fantastic. Near perfect and setlist heavy on the ABB. Show was 85 - 90 minutes i guess.
1 Mule
2 Thorazine Shuffle
3 Stone Cold Rage
4 Revolution Come, Revolution Go
5 Come & Go Blues
6 Dreams
7 Kind Of Bird
8 Soulshine
ENCORE
1 Railroad Boy

Sounds like a good time... how was magpie salute? They are on my radar to see

Glad you had a great show Roger - with a nice nod to Gregg in the setlist

Mixed feeling about The Magpie Salute show. I'm a huge Black Crowes fan and also dig their solo releases.
With regard to BC fans: they really deliver by playing lot of fan favorites. But unlike the other bands playing on the same stage (especially Gov't Mule) i wasn't impressed by the sound. Too loud and poorly balanced (Rich's vocals and guitars were much more prominent in the mix than Marc Ford's). They had a lengthy "soundcheck" due to the size of the band but the concert suffered from the result. They were only scheduled for a one hour set but finished after 55 minutes or so which was peculiar. Lead vocals were good but no Chris. Due to the loud sound the show was lacking subtilities. But it's maybe more a sound thing so i would definitely want to see them again.
