Gov't Mule: BRING ON THE MUSIC, Live @ The Capitol Theatre

Muleheads: What are you waiting for? Get down to your local record store or to Amazon.com and grab this is as soon as you can. The 2 disc DVD is just a mind-blower............VINTAGE, modern era Mule, and the sound is just UNBELIEVABLE. Weather is perfect here so I've been running this through my Sharp 32" HD flatscreen with NO soundbar in the backyard. I cannot BELIEVE the sound that is coming out of these stock TV speakers, I never knew this TV was capable of this, and it's all because of the mix.
If you want to be able to experience pristine Live Mule in the comfort of your own home...........this is the ticket! The CD's are good too but the DVD really blew me away. The variety is amazing.........because the Mule is amazing. And by the way, there are is only one repeat song between the CD's and DVD's. The song they repeat is Travelin' Tune...........Warren's tribute to ABB. GREAT tune, very Americana sounding.
This is probably the best packaged Mule to date...........

I couldn't agree more. I got the Blu-ray and agree that this is the best video package the Mule have ever released - by far. The band covers a LOT of ground and really do their catalog justice. This is a must have for any Mule fan, IMO.

Right on. The package is awesome but the film is just amazing.

Was wondering when someone would bring up this fantastic new release.
I bought the regular 2CD and Deluxe 2CD/2DVD release as well as the Volume 1 & 2 vinyl. CD's and vinyl sound excellent but have not watched the video yet.
I have 65" Panasonic plasma TV and a 9.2 surround system so will have to check it out tonight. Will have to wait until the family is out of the house to crank it up though.
Now after thinking about it I may have to also get the Bluray! Anyone know if this was shot in HiRes. Assuming it was, as why would they not?
Also received my 5th row center ticket for the Mule September New London Garde Arts Center Theater show yesterday. Really looking forward to this show.

I picked up the 2 DVD set a couple of days ago. I have played all 4 discs and I agree with all the above comments, only problem I am having is that the dvd audio is slightly out of sync with the the visuals. I have seen on Amazons comments about a couple of people having the same issues.

Interesting, I am watching the first DVD now in DTS audio and no sync issues. Whatg audio type are you using? Is all the video out of sync off just in spots?
Great quality video considering it is not bluray. Well edited as it does not jump around every second like some concert videos.

Soulshine
No, this is not from the DVD. I shot this last year at The Fox in Oakland and I love this version.

Hi Bill, I have sorted the sync problem out now. it was a something to do with the tv audio. I went online and found a tutorial that has now thankfully fixed it.

A tale of two DVD's...................someone here knows what I am referencing.

I do.
Some of the same frustrating issues on this one, some tunes in sync & some not.
But where as Tails was real low in volume this one is loud, TOO LOUD, at least the CDs.
& just a FYI - the CDs & DVD are different shows with very few tunes repeated.

I have not noticed ANYTHING out of sync on the DVD's. Not saying you didn't, just saying I have not noticed any problems and I've played both DVD's all the way through.

I should have pointed out that I watched the DVD version with the stereo mix enabled.
Might be different on the Surround mix or possibly the Bu-ray version.
Traveling Tune (pt 1)
Railroad Boy
Mule
Funny Little Tragedy
Far Away
Sin's A Good Man's Brother
Mr. Man
All have minuet timing issues.
Pay particular attention to the snare & cymbal hits.
I believe they are all on DVD1, so DVD2 looks to be fine.

Sounds like a gem of a release and for me, a good excuse to upgrade my stereo receiver to watch this new Mule...
Speaking of which, for those who amplify their tv sound via a simple, non-surround sound stereo amplifier, do you use the optical input cord for improving the sycn between the TV picture and the sound amplified via your amplifier?
I ask this question because awhile ago I purchased a large screen 4k Smart tv and have yet to upgrade my Yamaha receiver that's so old it doesn't have the optical input or HDMI to better improve the picture sync when watching regular tv or a DVD....At present I use the old coax input for the tv and the red, yellow, white, inputs for my DVD player....Very old school and just not capable of providing super sharp picture to sound synch..
I'm about ready to purchase the very simple and well reviewed Yamaha R-N303 stereo receiver and am curious how well the optical input could improve my synch dilemma..
Any advice or thoughts from you techies out there in cyber space would be appreciated...

Got mine this morning. Haven't watched the DVDs yet but the CDs are awesome. One of the best $20 purchases I have made in quite a while.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

Saw Mule last night in Chicago and it was a great show.
Question for those that have Bring on the Music...
1. The 2 cd/2 dvd set - do the DVD's have surround sound? (A must for me)
2. Is the Blu-Ray the same as the 2 DVD's put together? Any additional audio choices, any extras not on the
dvd's?
3. I assume the Blu-Ray does not have the tracks from the cd's, is that true?
Thanks!

Just slipped the DVD into the player. Audio options are as follows:
1. Stereo PCM
2. 5.1 DTS
3. Dolby 5.1 Surround

The Blu-Ray has the same setlist and bonus content as the DVD's and does not have the songs from the CD's.
The Blu-Ray audio options are:
Stereo PCM
5.1 Dolby DTS-HD Master Audio
5.1 Dolby True HD

Thank you robslob and abb420!
