Way better show than it looks on paper. I think this tour is exactly what the Mule needed. As great as they always are, I felt the last show I went to at the beacon 12/30 was a little stale and had been feeling that a bit since about 2011. I think it's the best I've seen out of them since 2010 or so.
From the get go, Warren had the fire in his playing and voice. A couple of Mule tunes to warm up and then Scofield took it to another level. Especially during Pass the Peas.
A great night of music for $35.00. Can't beat it. The venue is great also. Real good sound from where I was. A little crowded in the first set but people eventually spread out a bit. The Sunday night middle of L.I. cut down some what on the usual drunks that can harsh a G.A. show.
Little Wing encore was transcendent. Warren was using an effect that I've never heard before. Crazy psychedelic.
Go see this tour if it's anywhere near you !
