Gone three years...

Its hard to believe that Gregg has been gone for three years now.
Haven't heard anything about any material coming out. I thought his lawyer Michael Lehman had said they would be releasing some things to keep Gregg's legacy alive or something to that effect.
Sure could use some.

Have you seen this Steved?
Fantastic from Gregg late in his life.
Gregory Lenoir Allman. The voice and grandfather of the Allman Brothers Band.

Hi blackey,
Yeah I have seen it before but have not watched it for a bit. Very nice.
The one and only Gregory Allman!
thanks,

The montage beginning got me. After discovering this band in 1970, the music sounds just as exciting and wonderful all these years later.

The most exciting slide guitar playing I've ever heard and among the best blues singing.
Actually all 6 players are letter perfect. The ABB at their absolute best.

Gregg's vocals are fantastic here. GOOD BYE BABY!!
A nasty little solo from Dickey that swings!
The entire band swings like a big band of the 1940's. Letter perfect. Not ONE clam or mistake from anyone!!

Gone but not forgotten. His music lives on.I miss the excitement leading up to the Beacon runs every year than Jones beach in the summer& in the tri state area.Road trips were a given every summer great times indeed.Life is a little different for me without the brothers on tour.As a fan for over 40 years seeing them countless times I miss them terribly.Im getting choked up writing this Peace everyone.

Three years, time goes by fast.
My mother passed just three days before Gregg. My niece decided not to postpone her wedding, and that is where I got the news about Gregg. It was hard to mourn Gregg's death at the time, but I have great memories of his enormous talent.
Over the past three years, I've listened to more of Gregg's solo stuff more than ever.

No replacing Gregg- EVER! I'm thankful that he allowed us a little peek into his soul in his final few years .

Yeah for sure RayG. That last album Southern Blood rips me up every time.

My condolences kevdab. Losing mom is a tough one. Mine passed in 1992 and still miss her.
Southern Blood is an excellent album. Gregg wasn't able to complete it all the way but got enough done that just some finishing touches remained.

That must have been an indescribable time kevdab - wow
Have been listening primarily to Gregg’s redux’ - they’re all great, of course MRider from Laid Back, Standback & esp Dreams from the next year’s live one, C&GBlues - the later WPost from Searchin’, the rearranged DKMWonderin....
But the Gregg Allman Band’s take of EHWoman - It Burns My Ears - Dan Toler is the star - fiery fiery playing - the GAB’s take of DWYM/Cross to Bear is also excellent
Yes a sad start to the year w/Butch
The disbelieving start to the month w/Col Bruce going from stage straight to heaven
Then Gregg later that month
Fondly remembered one & all

I remember exactly where I was when my son called with the news of Greggs passing.
The Tom Petty Sirius channel was paying tribute to Gregg earlier today.
The host said that while he had a sorted personal life when he got on the stage he was "the man".
He then played a track from 11 years to the day featuring the ABB and Tom Petty, Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench doing a Dylan tune It takes a lot to laugh it takes a train to cry.
He is missed.

Haven't heard anything about any material coming out. I thought his lawyer Michael Lehman had said they would be releasing some things to keep Gregg's legacy alive or something to that effect.
Sure could use some.
They did release the Expanded LAID BACK just last year.

PCBob you are right about that. I forgot about that release even though I bought it. I guess I just miss the guy. Not that I knew him but you know what I mean.

Hard to believe 3 years.

Enjoyed "Playing Up A Storm" this afternoon. Good times Gregg. Rock In Peace
