Going to see Live Dead & Brothers (with Berry Oakley Jr) on 4/26/24

Going to see this in a little under a week. I saw something similar to this a few years ago, before COVID. The only folks I remember from then that are part of this now are Tom Constanten and Mark Karan and they were both very good. With Berry Oakley Jr and Les Dudek apparently part of this as well and given recent events, I have to think there will be at least some kind of tribute to Dickey.
This is a smallish venue, maybe I'll try and see if I can talk to Berry if they're signing stuff after the show or something. Should be interesting.

Went and saw this last night in York; was fun and I am glad that Berry Oakley Jr found a good place to land after the Allman Betts Band

It was a fun show, mostly older crowd. Glad I went as it is likely the closest thing to a memorial service or wake for Dickey as I am going to get.
Again though, really glad Berry found a band he seems to be having fun in and with. You know, at times he sounded as much like Phil Lesh and Jack Casady as his dad on bass, depending on the song. And Les Dudek can still play a pretty mean guitar. It was a fun way to spend a Friday night

@jack_frost Guess I'll never know exactly what happened concerning Berry Oakley, Jr. and why he doesn't play with Devon Allman and Duane Betts.

@robertdee yeah, probably not I guess. They weren't doing any kind of meet and greet or I would have been tempted to ask him. As it is, he was smiling all night, really playing bass well and singing well and he seems to be in with a good group of folks, so I am happy for him. I even saw taper trees in the audience, so he's carrying on the fine tradition of being in a "people's band".
Man, that Hot 'Lanta last night really was a scorcher too
