I know a lot of people on here see Mr. Hughes as a little bit like Marmite, but I absolutely love the guy. He played a 2 hour blinder of a set last night in a very wet, damp and miserable Manchester.
He still has the chops to pull off all the high notes and his bass playing is exceptional.

When I first heard Glenn Hughes I did not like him because it was the LP "Last Concert In Japan." That is far from Deep Purple at their best, and Glenn is part of the problem. Bad buzz.

However, since then, I have heard more of his work and appreciate the strength of his voice, and it is also clear that this is a guy who has in many ways gotten better, which is unusual.
