Heard the Billy Joe Shaver song today, original version with Eddie shredding. Made me think of the attempted versions by the band, just before Dickey exited the building. I always thought Dickey brought that in as a favor to Billy Joe and kind of payback for covering Sweet Mama. From my memory, there's only a couple versions out there. I'm sure some of you know. I was digging through my recordings and don't think I have a version of it.

We were "treated" to that mess at my kids' first ABB show in 1999.

What a clunker.

It is on the only ABB bootleg I have from 1999. Lakewood Amphitheater, Atlanta, GA. 9/4/99.

I haven't listened to this show lately but I don't recall that it was that bad.

Syracuse 8/31/99 was the second time they played it in August.

Looking at those similar set lists and seeing some really "meh" songs on them.

Did not BJS write "Sweet Mama" as well?...How is this "payback"?
Cool
