That's it, I've had enough, next time I decide to drop tens of thousands to go to a festival, they can just forget it.

Hey! If I can afford $12,000 for a ticket to a bogus festival- I can afford a hit man for the a-holes who organized it! Fuggitaboutit!

Looks like it was a mess but maybe not $12K/person. One person says they got screwed and had paid $3000 for VIP. If that was supposed to include travel and accomodations and VIP type ticket to a fest in the Caribbean, that's maybe not as outrageous as the headline.

Who played at this douche-fest?

"The event, founded by rap star Ja Rule, was expected to boast a "who's who" of popular musical acts, including Blink-182, Migos, Lil Yachty, and Major Lazer."

These folks got a screamin deal. A bargain at twice the p inrice - I would pay any price to NOT hear that dogcrap. Lil Yachty? lol

In the early days of the internet, in Flagstaff AZ, I knew this shifty scammer hippie named Drummer Michael who managed to book Santana, Jefferson Starship, and a bunch of groups for a huge festival that he had zero intention of setting up, the One World Festival or some BS. He was a penniless dirtbagger, but he was from the East Coast Dimartino mafia family, so maybe he was getting fronted money from them. He got funded somehow, as the promo was heavy, circulated this thing on the net, ads in new age mags, High Times, posters. So all these neohippies showed up in town and had this big gathering about 20 miles out on the national forest, no bands. Apparently Starsip sued, I don't know what happened. The hippies were coming and going from town for weeks, panhandling, carrying dysentery, hurling on the sidewalk, berating locals who didn't shell out spare change.

"Spare change, brother?"

That was when we came up with:

"Change comes from within, brother."

When I was still in high school I went to a dirtbag mess of a "festival". This was 1971.

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/life-celebration-a-report-from-the-front-19710722

There was death, narcotics, bad energy.

I still had fun, go figure....................

It was the last, or one of the last, festival attempts. It was Satan's Woodstock. My highlight was swimming in the dead cow river. We all jumped out when the dead cow was pointed out. Very metaphorical spiritual imagery moment. ha.............. Festival of Death.

I was at the worst. So poor young gullible rich kids...... If there weren't dead people and dead cows, I don't sympathize............................ Smile

Some might remember the disaster called the Celebration of Life in 1971. I attended and nearly everything that could go wrong did.

Super hyped and a super mess. I left after enduring it for a few days.

I am glad no one got hurt at this one.

Sorry, bird. I was posting about it on another board and just came over for a quick drop.

It did suck didn't it?

My crew came up from FL and we were in LA nearly two weeks. Camping at a KOA and then along the levees until the site was finalized. The LA government gets the lion's share of the blame for causing the site to be moved at least twice while thousands waited.

Did have my first "legal" drink in NO during that time.

They are talking about starting earlier next year. I guess there is a big demand for that sucky music, and a lot of dumb rich people.

The following link takes you to a site where for $2 you can stream a show on the COL that ran on Louisiana public TZv.

https://secure.squarespace.com/checkout?cartId=cvbRRM1iYAbw5zyjYwVLHWf4Uns02HjU8aQxhnxB

I have not checked it yet but plan on getting around to it.

THX, I would pay $2 too see if memory equals reality of that mess. Remember how HOT it was and the mesquitos? Just added to the danger mojo. One night I must have been slipped something, wound up in some cosmic alternate universe of strangers and weird darkness..... Vague protection memory by a kind stranger.... edgey stuff..... later read lot of PCP was pedaled as THC, explains the dimensional shift of some the crowd..........
