Now that the band is done what will be the future of this page. Will it remain? I hope so.

Why shouldn't it remain?

Thanks as always Rowland & Lana

No reason it wouldn't continue. The site has certainly lost some traffic to Facebook over the years, but the site was created and maintained by Rowland and Lana, not the band. It wouldn't shut down just because they do unless that's what Rowland and Lana choose.

At our dinner last week, some of us discussed this w/ Rowland, and he is committed to continuing. He did indicate some sort of update is coming, and is struggling w/ what to do w/ all the old content here. I am confident he will find a way to keep it accessible.

I should've eavesdropped more closely 😛 😉

Many of us were on this site many years back and we have used this site to meet each other, make plans for shows, and to discuss at length all different topics from music to bands to travel and everything in between. I have made many friends from this site. New friends, not people I knew back in high school and forgot about. New friends that shared a love for the music of the Allman Brothers. We may have had our differences along the way, but at least we could come here and discuss things.

I have always liked the "forum" sites better than anything offered by facebook. Facebook is just a long stream of pictures and ideas without much real human interaction or discussion. With this site I can discuss something with a few folks, and then come back to it a couple days later and continue where we left off. With FB it is here today and gone tomorrow, at least content wise. FB just seems very superficial to me. But, seems like everyone went there and a lot of folks are just not using this forum like they used to. Sometimes things change, but not always for the better.

My sincere thanks to Rowland and Lana for their dedication to this site and too us, the fans.

Possibly the largest "piece" of salmon I've ever seen.

surprised rowland didn't point out anybody with 11k+ posts is partially responsible for "all the old content here!"

Very well put ... I joined FB just to make sure I could keep in touch with friends in case this site ever went down ... but this is always my first port of call for all those reasons you mentioned ...

Rowland and Lana ... know that you are loved ... Cool

Yeah, I finally broke down and signed up for FB mainly because all the local musicians went there and they no longer maintained web sites so I had to go to FB to see where they were gigging. I liked the old way better but times change. I threaten to deactivate my account just about daily on FB. I just know that I am wasting valuable time when I am on there.

But then I also get some good updates from bands I would like to see or that I am a fan of and I get sucked back in....

Hoping that it stays. Have met some wonderful people here over the years. And I'm a relative newbie.

It was to scale with the other dishes.

I would say there was a lot of old at the table that night, and we were pretty much all content with a lot of substance as well.

Well fanfrom'71. I am too, saw the band three times in '71, and many times thereafter. I visit this site every day, posting only when it suits me. I didn't know we had posting police here
