he is asked about playing the Beacon w Tedeschi Trucks a few years ago:
"I mostly remember the introduction they gave me that night. 'Please welcome the great and lovable Dickey Betts!' I've never been called lovable before. I laughed all the way to my amp."

The Dickey walk off rousing ovation had the building totally electrified! I remember my chest pounding like a 5 cylinder pump. I felt like there was no better place in the world to be at that moment. He walks off to David Spero, Duane Betts, & Pedro Arevalo, with each step he took the decibel level rose to joyous heights.
