Forever_Duane's Finest

So here's the thing. I listen to a ridiculous amount of ABB music as I am sure many of you here do. I have too many shows to list and adding more all the time. I notice a lot of discussion about particular versions of songs so I thought I would share some top notch versions of songs I own every week. Maybe this will help others when choosing their next (or first) instant live or Munckmusic download.
I am going to shy away from obvious shows like the Clapton shows or the final run. I am going to stick to less common stuff. I am also going to limit it to the Instant Live/Munckmusic era.
So here goes my first couple.
"Whipping Post" 9-8-14 at Lock'n. Very well done from start to finish. A really nice solo from Warren on this one. It is really a solid show from start to finish minus "Blue Sky". But Whipping post really stuck out to me.
"One Way Out" 3-8-13 at The Beacon. Luther and Cody Dickinson sit in. The washboard sound on this one adds a lot. Horns are featured as well. Some real nice back and forth amongst those on stage.
I'll be back in a few days with some more for you all.

I certainly used to.

That's a great idea Forever_Duane, thanks for giving those ideas. I think I own both shows, will listen to those versions today.

Here are a couple more.
Blue Sky 3-15-13 at the Beacon
A fiery version clocking in around 15 minutes. It's in my go to list.
Jessica 8-24-07 Clarkston, MI
An almost 18 minute rendition. I was there for this one. It was great and has stood up over the years for me. That is actually a really hot show and was a Wests Best El Grande show for 2007. Check this show out.

just spent the last 30 minutes posting here and it's gone so an abbreviated recap
1). Agree with your 3/15/13 Blue Sky choice. Would also recommend Ain't Wastin Time No More and Revival from that show
2) franklins tower/ turn on your love light/franklins tower reprise and Jessica from the 3/21/14 Beacon show
3) Stormy Monday - 3/12/11
4) Women Across The River - 3/20/10 United Palace searing guitar work - whole show is great
5) Soul serenade - 3/25/12 only 4:10 but beautifully done.
Need a great Whipping Post. Is the rest of the Lockin show worthy of purchase
These are taken from my Beacon Best list

FD - just ordered the El Grande show you recommended. Thanks.

Yes the entire show at Lock'n is great minus Blue Sky.

Let me know what you think of it. This is why I am doing this. I want to help others find some of this great music I own.

I'm back with a couple more for everybody.
"Dimples" 8-19-05 Scranton, PA
Jack Pearson filled in for 5 for shows in place of Warren on this tour. Warren is back for this show but Jack still joins in on the fun. This is a scorching version of Dimples.
"Stand Back" 8-13-05 Chicago
From one of the shows that Jack filled in on. I really enjoy this version. Dueling slides....awesome.

For The ABB/Deadhead here's a few you may like.
"Shakedown Street" 12-02-11 Boston, MA
A rare take on the Dead classic. Really enjoyable.
And for the Franklin Tower fans I give to thee....
9-24-04 Atlanta, GA
My absolute favorite version of this. Derek and Warren both have amazing solos and the crowd is on fire for good reason. A must have.
"I Know You Rider" 3-12-09
This one has Trey and Paige from Phish on it. They also did it on the 28th with Weir and Lesh but this version is superior.

Quite a few of us on this board were at that show. Some were upset that Warren wasn't there but I thought it was awesome. I have no idea if this was the plan (I assume it was) but they didn't play anything that was released after Brothers & Sisters. Whoever put that setlist together knew what he was doing.
Jack Pearson was an awesome fill in. I hadn't seen him in years. Check out the Jessica from that show.
Another gem from that brief run was the next night in Michigan; The Mountain Jam was epic. I was bummed I couldn't get back home to Detroit to see the show but thank goodness for the Instant Lives. I think I saw 10 shows there at Pine Knob and they always brought it.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

As I agree with Lee in the above post I can safely throw this one out there too.
"Mountain Jam" 8-14-05 Clarkston, MI
This one is pure fire. Jack brings a lot to this one.
