Focus, "Moving Waves."

I listened to this album for the first time in a very, very long time today. It is famous for the hit "Hocus Pocus," which has a novelty element in its yodelling (!!!) but has some very good playing too.
The rest of the album is excellent, mostly instrumental rock, and the guitar player really shreds. His sound is similar to that of Ritchie Blackmore circa 1970.

great album along with focus live at the rainbow. jan ackerman very overlooked.
i had an 8 track called dutch masters. basically a best of focus. it had an alternate version of hocus pocus that put the original to shame. never found that version again.

I love this song off the Focus 3 album.

Just an amazing band. Every member is a bonafide virtuoso. Thijs van Leer's "yodeling" ... some of his vocals seem strange, but I have never heard anybody (including opera) with that kind of range! "Live at the Rainbow" (1973) is one of the great live albums that doesn't get discussed much.

If you're referring to the US single version, consider it found!

Focus played at my high school. It's a shame the excellence of this band was lost on so many people who only came for Hocus Pocus.

They were nearly bumped from the show - then told that they only had half the time - so they play it double speed. LOL - Great playing and I laugh every time.
One of my fav videos on YouTube.
