I made the pilgrimage early March (Chuck L was in concert - he still has it.) Big house was amazing; food at H & H was great and well priced.
If you are planning to go to Rose Hill do so after going to the Big House because they will provide you with a map. We went ourselves and there was no attendant. Wandered around for a while until a bunch of motorcyclist taking a ride through the cemetery stopped and gave us a ride over or we'd still be wandering.
Nothing like visiting brothers Duane & Gregg as well as Mrs. Napier in style.

I went with my wife to visit Van Goghs grave; she went to Macon with me. The town has cleaned up a lot from what it was in the past.
Good for you! Â I visited back in October 2011 and had a blast. Â Of course had lunch at the H&H and met Mama Louise. Â Best fried chicken I ate since the last time my mom made it (turns out my mom learned how to make fc while my parents were living at Ft. Benning). Â Topped the day off with a visit to Andersonville. Â
Eventually made it to Gadsden, AL for the Jam For Duane that Saturday. Â What a trip that was; good for the soul! Â Need to do it again sooner than later. Â Cheers!
I was there Friday. We arrived in Macon at 11am and I wanted to be back on the road at 3 as we had to be in Tennessee that night. So had wanted to arrive at 10, but as things go we got in an hour late.
Rose Hill - H&H - The Big House is all we had time for.
A very worthwhile trip and even though I was just there, sometime I would like to return for a full day. The amount of time one could spend at Rose Hill and the Big House really is pretty limitless. I will post photos tonight.
