I'm sure this thread has appeared before, but thanks to short term memory loss am revisiting the subject. Was watching the restoration dvd of The Good The Bad and The Ugly yesterday, and was just blown away, again, by the Ennio Morricone music. Morricone was the Spaghetti God ! sounds incredible in 5:1.

Anyone know if there was an audio soundtrack ever released? Kind of a ripoff, I have the big deluxe DVD with all the cool stuff, you would think they would have put the Morricone music on the disc , but no, just some cards and special interviews and other who cares stuff.

So the theme to The Good The Bad and the Ugly is numero uno for me!

I have a CD of the soundtrack album. I was just listening to it the day before yesterday, actually.
Someone uploaded a copy of the soundtrack to YouTube here...

I also came across a live performance of Ennio Morricone music by a group called (appropriately enough) The Spaghetti Western Orchestra...

I used to have the Hugo Montenegro soundtrack for The Good The Bad & The Ugly with A Fist Full Of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More on vinyl when I was a kid.

I like some of the Mike Post theme songs like Rockford Files and Hill Street Blues

Do you mean the score or the funky version of "2001" by Eumir Deodato? I love that scene when he walks outside and runs into...OTEIL BURBRIDGE! So random, totally blew my mind the first time I saw that movie 15 years ago.

That's Oteil, far Left; Peter Sellers, far right

Here's the scene:

I assume you mean original scores and not a compilation soundtrack like "dazed and confused"

I'd vote "Magnum PI" and "The Last of the Mohicans"

I like everything I've ever heard by Lalo Schifrin. He wrote so much great music. Bernard Herrmann is another. Between the two of them they wrote the majority of my all-time favorite film & TV scores and theme songs.

Whoever played the slide on Simon and Simon was a killer player. At least I always thought. Anybody know who did?

University of Louisville basketball used "True Gravity" for local broadcast for a season.

Otherwise, I would say the theme from "Wired" - "Way Down in the Hole" performed by a different artist each season.

Hey Jerry Juice talking slide guitar, Ry Cooder and theme music ... Ry also did the soundtracks for Little Big Man and Southern Comfort - very good playing on both.

For me no movie title theme, past, present nor future, will ever surpass this:

Goosebumps.
