What are a few of your favorite live albums? They're talking about this on SiriusXM. Listening On Demand right now. Several people were listing 5 of their favorites. Here's 5 that I like:

ABB - At Fillmore East
Rory Gallagher - Irish Tour '74
Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From The Road
AC/DC - If You Want Blood You've Got It
Muddy Waters - At Newport 1960

This was discussed on a slightly differently-titled thread currently found on page 2 - has been a lot hereabouts Cool

2 live ones w/the same Captured Live title - by Johnny Winter late 70s, and Little Charlie & The Nightcats, early 90s
Latter one, xclnt - former OK but can’t touch Johnny Winter And Live - few can tho

2 others, David Johansen, Live It Up - & Dave Edmunds, I Hear You Rockin

Ironic that you brought up the Dave Edmunds album. I had the song "I Hear You Knocking" stuck in my head the other day so I looked it up. Couldn't recall who did it. Great tune.

I am a bit lost on this one folks, for 15 years now I have listened 97%, to audience recordings, field recordings, instant lives etc, so many great live moments!!! Dylan has said, "the definitive versions of my are, performed on the stages of the world every night ", since I jumped on board here I listen 97% to live stuff, mostly Dylan and ABB? Late at night when I get off work and I am exhausted, my wife and I take a late night country ride or I put on the headphones, and if my reality has been adjusted just right and one of those artist enters the zone during a particular show, I can enter the zone with em, 3/4 awake, 1/4 asleep, 100% mind in the music, I know, sounds crazy..........joe

Some great ones mentioned.
Here's one featuring fill in ABB guitarist David Grissom (1993) that usually slips between the cracks:

Chuck Berry - Live at the Fillmore

That is a good one if you've never heard it. I think he was opening for the Dead. He is backed up by an early version of the Steve Miller Band. It is mostly blues covers and instrumental jams. The only real dud is his novelty song "My Ding-A-Ling", which is funny the first time you hear it when you're twelve years old, but gets pretty annoying on an otherwise killer album.

My Dingaling is on a later album, the London Chuck Berry Sessions - but yes, his FillmoreW album is Nice - sorta different for Chuck - as you said a lot of blues & jams - fine listen indeed -
Must also mention the OMDDevils’ 2 LP “It’s Alive” release, big energy & chops

Smile not on mine - my copy is on the Mercury label (of the Fillmore record)

My Dingaling must have been included on a later issue as a bonus track - as you say tho it’s no bonus appended to the Fillmore album - belongs where it came from, TLCBSessions - they even squeezed a 45 rpm outta My Dingaling - 11 min originally

Can I mention 2 others, Johnny & Edgar Winter Live (mid 70s), and Night of the Guitar (late 80s)
Both have stellar rock n roll medleys - included on the rock covers side of my equally stellar homemade Blues Originals/Rock Covers tape :pipedownclown: Smile 😉
