The William Bell and Emitt Rhodes records were by far the best things I heard this year. The rest are so good and consistent, you could throw a blanket over them. That said, if you haven't heard Joanne Shaw Taylor, she's a killer

My wife and I are fans of her's (my wife probably more than me). I bought this one for her birthday, and I have had a hard time getting into it. It feels more like contemporary style of music and she has kinda moved away from the stylings of her prior releases. My wife loves it, I just cant seem to take to it.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Thanks for all the ideas. Great time to spend a lot of my vacation to listen to these.

Tedeschi Trucks Band - "Let Me Get By"
Luther Dickinson - "Blues and Ballads"
Radiohead - "A Moon Shaped Pool"
Wilco - "Schmilco"
