Favorite ABB Collectible

5 years ago I brought extra money to the Another One For Woody show in hopes of getting one of the advertised hand signed VIP posters that came along with the limited seating off to the right of the Roseland Ballroom. I had recently gotten a pair of VIP tix to a BC's show and both my wife and I got 2 replica signed drumsticks, slide, & harp. My general admission tix were ~$100 and the VIP tix were ~300. I was willing to go the $200 difference.
As the show ended I positioned myself where the VIP area would exit and as an elder couple came down I offered the $100 showing 5 crisp 20's and the elderly Gent snatched it and said to wife, "Honey, Give the man your poster". I thanked him and secured this gem. I'm not sure the amount of VIP tix sold, but It had to have been between 20 and 50 tickets. The poster was fully signed by the Allman Brothers Band and Gov't Mule. I asked the other performers signing and a woman who worked the VIP stated the others may have been onstage at the time of the signing.
I had Luther and Cody Dickinson sign it at Mexicali Live, Rich Robinson sign it at the Bowery Ballroom, Artimus Pyle sign it at BB King's, and now Audley Freed sign it last night. I already had Luther and Cody sig's when I saw them at the Iridium a couyple years back and Hook Herrara showed up, Ugh, There's a few others that I keep a local eye out for. I posted years back about it as I'm not sure who signed it softly on the bottom and the marker came out light. I thought about trying to have the Gent resign? Well anyway this is my baby.....

My favorite ABB collectable is actually one of Duane's slides.

The one I no longer have. My Atlanta Fox poster. Someone stole that piece from me. It is an empty hole in my rock and roll poster collection.

The many friendships with so many kind and like-minded decent people! The memories of fellow travelers like Bup'1, Bill Ector and many others who I have been so fortunate to have met in my life and who have now gone on to that great concert in the sky. These aren't "collectible's" in the physical or material sense, but they mean more to me than any piece of paper, vinyl or acetate ever could. The stuff you can't buy! 😉
