And there it is! U.S. Blues!

Somebody nailed that one. Good call whoever it was..
Mike

And with that I bid you goodnight!

That's a nice looking setlist. Lots of possibilities for tomorrow night

Was telling a friend that they should have opened the show w/US Blues and ended the first set w/One More Sat. Night, just to get the "predictable" songs out of the way. Oh well, still fun songs. Catch y'all tomorrow night (I love chatting on the Allmans site for a Dead show!)

I would really like to hear Phish do some Dead covers this summer. I think they might.

They did covers mixed in with originals from their earliest shows. Dead-wise, they used to play "Scarlet > Fire" and "Eyes of the World," but they would also do "Whipping Post," "Tush," and other bands.
They take forever to tune and it's easy to tell where they are going next.
I'm sure this has made the rounds here, but do you guys recall the compilation of tunings from '77. I think the concept is hysterical.
I just found it on YouTube, and the commentary looks promising:
Peace.

Last nights show was excellent...way less restrained and all out there...trey,Hornsby and the organ player powered by Phil's bass were a very good band. From the first notes of shakedown it was clear this was different then the other nights.Eager to see/hear tonight!

This will be my third night ordering the shows on pay-per-view. I really miss seeing Warren, and Joan and jimmy herring and the blonde-haired guy who has sang and played guitar at the last couple Wanee festivals with the Dead. This is most I've ever heard Phil sing - he doesn't sound good. Bobby sounds exhausted. Bruce Horsnsby rocks. Wish they would let Trey sing more. I'm enjoying the shows and will have another fun night in my living room but I am missing the presence of members who in my opinion, sang these songs with better pipes and played the guitar at a higher level. I do enjoy the vibe in crowd and seeing that many Dead fans gathered in one place.

Best comment ever...."You mean this isn't one of their songs?"

they always did covers (and still do) but Trey has been writing his own tunes since the beginning

China Cat!

Trey is really playing a lyrical guitar...

Thanks for that Phish Fiend link Bhawk. I don't think I would have listened to all this on a delay. I probably would have bought tonight, so, next time I see you... I owe you lunch.

Sweet transition...they need more shows to really tighten up.

No doubt.
They could use a little help on the harmonies as well.
One thing for sure... the spirits seem high.

Found that on the twitters...just always gotta share!:D

Very cool, Bhawk - so great to hear the show live!

Bobby's voice sure brings back memories. Missed old Jerry on that North bound headlight.

nice start

I'm loving this set...
Who's keeping the list?

Nice start

As a Dead Head from the early seventies it pains me to say I don't give a ratdog's ass about this money grab.
They said after Jerry died they would never play as the Grateful Dead again.
Yet here they are when the money can be made.
(Of course Skynyrd said they'd never play Free Bird with vocals after they reunited and that didn't last long.)
Don't plan on downloading any of the "last" shows.
The LAST Grateful dead show happened 20 years ago, anything else is crass commercialism, surprised trump isn't a sponsor.

They didn't get any of my money and I'm having fun.
I had a better time at the Beacon for the ABB farewell, but this is better than re-runs of Madam Secretary.
I'm listening through wireless headphones, watching the Nationals play baseball, doing laundry, and just finished a little home made peach ice cream.
So what if robber barons are making money. I'm having a blast.
