Ever see yourself in the crowd of a show that is now on DVD?

Palladia or whatever it is called now shows Clapton's Crossroads shows semi frequently and there are often crowd shots, which made me wonder if anyone here that was at any of those shows has ever seen themselves in the crowd?
Or any other festival or show that has made it to DVD?

I've got a classic here ......... I was in the crowd shot of "Shine a Light", the Martin Scorsese film of the Rolling Stones at the Beacon Theatre in 2006. It was my maiden trip to the Beacon and the show blew my mind. To see the Stones in this venue, with half of the Orchestra seating ripped out to add more stage and catwalks for Mick, was epic........a night I'll never forget.

Wow Tumbleweed. That's a story for the ages!
Not the crowd shot so much as the show!

Forget concerts, I'm still trying to catch a glimpse of micelf in Slap Shot, the crowd fight scene.
We went to the open filming in Syracuse, they asked all the spectators to come over to stand beside the paid extras to make the crowd look bigger.
My friend's father was a paid extra, we can see him behind the twin blondes.

Spotted myself in 2 crowd scenes, but I had to look hard and freeze the frame at just the right moment when the camera was scanning the crowd:
Rolling Stones in Hampton, '81 on Keith's birthday, I was about 40' from the front of the stage, dead center.
Simon and Garfunkel in Central Park, '82, we were on the (stage) left side of the fence surrounding the soundboard and camera crew in the center of the crowd

At the Chicago Crossroads show ( 1st one ) quick shot of me and my son happens a couple of times

Several years ago there was a movie called "Wetlands Preserved" which was a documentary about the late great New York City club in Tribeca called the Wetlands.
Wetlands, as many of you can recall, was the premier jam band music venue of all time. Hundreds of acts from Phish to Dave Matthews to Frogwings to Robert Randolph and the Family Band to Ratdog performed there.
On February 13, 1999 I was front row for the Ratdog (with Bob Weir) tenth anniversary (of the club) show. The gig gained a significant amount of notoriety because teenybopper group Hanson made a guest appearance (!)
The concert was filmed, and many years later a brief clip was featured in the movie "Wetlands Preserved." Although the footage is a bit dark, you can see my head for about one second!
I recently emailed the director of the movie, and asked him if they were planning to release more footage of that concert. He told me that he tried to use more concert footage as a bonus feature, but Bob Weir's management refused, citing a "sub-par performance." Apparently they were not happy with the gig, and would not sign off. Too bad, I would have seen more of myself on the DVD 🙁

Not sure about a DVD, but they held an All Star Tribute to Johnny Cash concert in NYC back in 1999 which was later broadcast on Fox TV. My buddy and I had terrible seats behind the soundboard so we decided to sneak behind a curtain and up the back stairs into the VIP section in the balcony (mostly TV folks I think as the stars were in the first few rows by the stage) we got up there and grabbed two seats in the front row center of the balcony and as we had no VIP lanyards we just played it low key and once the show began we were all set for a great view and great music. As they filmed the whole show for TV (including some song re-starts) we got on TV quite a few times once it aired. I think it was one of Johnny Cash's last live performances as he came out for the final two songs (it was listed as a maybe depending on his health but he was great).

You can see me with Moid's dad in the Mule Tale of Two Cities dvd (The Chicago Riv portion).......

Second Crossroads in Chicago (2010) you can see where our figures are silhouetted with the sun behind us.
Woods, Lefty Blues, Sandman and myself were all sitting there (up in the stands).
"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

you can briefly see warren haynes in the crowd on the jeff beck les paul tribute dvd.

You look shorter in person....... 😛

I was at the All My Friends Gregg tribute with my son, so we are just out of range in a few pans 🙁

We saw Page / Plant on their first tour, at Brendan Byrne Arena in NJ if I remember right. I was buying plenty of bootleg videos back then, often shaky handheld VHS recordings but what the heck. Sure enough, we we able to see ourselves in the Page / Plant video for about 3 seconds. FAMOUS!!!

I figured several would chime in about the Crossroads shows.

ABB 40th anniversary at the Beacon
I(and BrendanW) can be seen a few times. All quick shots of crowd, nothing up close or long lasting that I know of,but I've never watched the whole thing.

I've been to a couple of shows that wound up as official releases (ABB at Great Woods in 1991, and Nirvana at Reading in 1992) but haven't seen myself in the crowd at either one. I do see myself in the crowd on various amateur YouTube videos quite often, though.

I was on the ONE WAY OUT DVD The Brothers released in 2002. The cameras caught me after the show as I was heading out of The Beacon. It was the first time I saw what I looked after a Beacon show and it was a sight to behold. Exhausted emotionally and physically from another long evening at The Beacon for The Brothers. I was at the 2nd Stones Beacon show but never made it onto the Shine a Light movie.

Don't think so - I was never really close to the stage for the shows.....

my wife and i got to the east room of the whitehouse oct 14 for the performance of creativity. being a Buddy Guy fan and my friend Marty Sammon that plays keyboard were going to be there. got in touch with a high school friend that works for Biden and we lucked out we were in. got a few shots of me but they got Jane singing along with Smokey Robinson. still cant believe this happen what a night.

The first year of Moogis, I was happily watching at home, but on the phone with Charlie O and my brother during the lead upintermission. They were front row and we were chatting it up and we were waving to one another.

Shade was much more valuable. It was over 100 that day.

Well, not on a DVD, but I attended an event in 2002 in Plano, which is just outside of Dallas. It was the first annual 93.3 The Bone Rock Show, and Sammy Hagar signed autographs for free there. Several photos were taken, and a photo of my Dad & I just standing in the crowd showed up on the website!! The station used to play some great kickass Classic Hard Rock & Metal from 2002 - 2006, and now has changed into a station that plays crappy pop music of today.

Not on DVD but on a TV broadcast from 2 years ago my face shows up in the crowd during the performances of Flogging Molly and John Mayer.
I'm definitetly present on a DVD yet can't exactly spot myself (probably only the silhouet of the back of my head): The Jack Bruce & Robin Trower concert (Seven Moons) which was filmed in Nijmegen, Netherlands.

When the dTb filmed "Songlines" in Chicago in 2006, there are a few people that used to hang out here that are in the front, right by the stage including Sandman and I think Chicagofan and maybe a few others.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

Not me but one of my best friends and old roommate is in the Panic in the Streets DVD. right at the very end when they show John Bell singing the National Anthem at a UGA baseball game the day of the concert. He's talking to JB and getting the mic after the song is over.
