Well it is a great song... good for Warren. Sometimes if a singer is popular on the show the songs they perform start selling quite well on iTunes.

Nice to see an ABB song get exposure. Singer didn't do much for me. Wouldn't even make the audition stage of the show in the US. But she picked a great song so bonus points.
Now that Bonnie Bishop was flat out SMOKIN' - Thanks Derek - One of the better versions of the song that I have ever heard. Really liked that. Forgot about the woman singing Soulshine after 2 lines of Bonnie singing.

The French have never really "got" Rock music, unlike Jazz where there has always been a huge appreciation - much more so than in the UK, for example.
The tradition of Chanson always seemed to be too strong to allow Anglo-Saxon popular music to permeate French culture. They always preferred twee the Petula Clark version of 60s pop - Le Yé-yé, as they called it - and their mainstream taste stayed there for the next 40 years or so.
They even invented their own hugely inferior version of Elvis - Johnny Hallyday - rather than accept the original.
When they have swayed towards Rock music, it has often been of the crassest variety which we would have discarded.
Hence when someone sings a brutal, truncated version of Soulshine lacking in any subtetlty, they go utterly apeshit.
