Duane Allman Skydog Tales
Came across this today on Spotify at work. Has anyone listened to this before? It is great! Duane being Duane. Who is he talking about during the first track, the 7th member?

In Alan Paul's book, the 7th members was the drummer for Johnny Winter, Bobby Caldwell.
Don't know where i may have gotten this impression from but i thought that Thom Doucette was almost the 7th member?
Those clips in the link maybe came from these interviews.(Didn't listen to all of the clips in the link)
He was referring to Bobby Caldwell. Duane wanted him in the band. No one else did. Doucette had already turned down Duane's many offers to be an official member. He wanted his freedom to come and go as he pleased and wasn't interested in the hard road life the band was living.

I imagine that 3 kits would be a little overkill, unless he was playing the Marc Q. role....
Isn't this just the "Dialogues" LP? The New York interview. "Bring the whips and masks!"
There's a Liz Reed with prominent Bobby Caldwell on the 6 CD Fillmore Recordings that tells me everything I need to know, which is that Duane was right and Bobby would have been a fantastic 7th member. He's turned down in the mix on the late show from that night but he's all over the early show.
