These Gents were under my radar and I'm glad my screen finally blipped. Donavon's not your typical California surfer dude (not that I know what that is? ). Great show with some nice all around tunage. I love the vocals he brings to the table, he can lay down some smooth Soul/R&B to go along with some California Folk, but with a kick. That kick is called Matt Grundy. He foots the songs with some lead guitar, backing vocals, & smooth harp. Donavon has a nice following that he interacts with during his show. A few songs in he was taking requests. When someone asked for some deeper cuts he joked about them singing it and then brought some folks up on stage to sing a tune though it wasn't for a deep track it was for one of his bigger numbers Free. It was a fun night with some down to earth Musical Americana making it all special.

Well, my knowledge of Donavon is limited, I understand in large part, he is a beach loving Californian with Folk style leanings, the one time I did see him live, in 2006 as he opened for Mule, he played a straight forward Rock and Roll set, I was standing at the stage and he absolutely lit it up!!!!!..........Peace.......joe
