Did anyone here see the Doors after Morrison death in the 70's

I have been listening to alot of music the last month and a half and started to listen to the doors studio albums other voices and full circle and actually like alot of the songs and I feel that Manzarek did a good job singing. Too bad they did not go further. Did anyone here go see them in the 70's ?

Boston Common 1972 & a one of those nights shows where the crowd was Really into it - like the vid, Thx

Yes, their first concert without Morrison.
"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

That’s special, & any particular recollections of that old coot? Where was it/how long after his passing - how did they acknowledge him, what was show like...
The crowd was literally, deleriously happy after the BC show

The Doors were a swinging band, but their performance hinges on their opening.

fast forward for a second, 2001 the Doors VH1 Storytellers, check it out if you missed it, they still had it.
back to 1972 now Thanks

Never saw after Jim passed. Saw just once with Jim. Jim was irritated and even said some insulting things to crowd and band. They didnt have a bass player. I remember they really stretched out on Light My Fire. Apparently Jim was gone for 10 minutes or so. Jim Morrison was a great singer and writer but man did he have some demons, attitude problems.

Good story Blackey, He had his demons for sure. Scott weiland from STP was alot like him and when these guys were on they were absolutely brilliant.

Wow that is pretty awesome.

Boy, gotta clean some cobwebs out of the gray matter.
The show was at Pershing Auditorium in Lincoln, Nebraska. Pershing hosted concerts, sporting events etc for many, many years. For a concert, I'd guess concert capacity to be 7-8,000. If I'm remembering correctly, it was maybe half full. I recall the surviving three really putting a lot of effort into the songs and particularly Manzarek trying to fill the vocal duties (but really, that wasn't really possible now was it). I know that they mentioned Jim early on, but for the life of me can't really recall the gist of that. I'd say maybe 25% left before the band was finished which surprised me because they should have had an idea of what to expect.
Bit of trivia, right around this same time Seals & Croft played their first ever concert as a duo at Pershing. I remember some of their radio hits being played. After the show, they stayed on stage and talked about their B'Hai (might be a name close to that) faith for those that wanted to stick around.
And, roughly around the same time as the other two shows I saw the ABB for the first time, 3/27/72. I don't recall the exact dates of the previous two but I do the Brothers show.
The worst memory all of this has dredged up is I had concert posters for all three and had kept track of them for many years thereafter, but alas, one move or another I no longer have them. One Pershing poster that did survive was a February '73 show with Willie Dixon & Freddie King. Super glad to have that one, but at one point I had all four.

The Doors never had a bass guitar onstage. Manzarek held down the bass lines on keyboard. There were some excellent bassists on the studio records.

I believe bassist Harvey Brooks played live with them once at MSG in 69 or 70.
I am impressed you knew that far flung fragment of rockarcaeology
