Bright pink jacket and Ibanez might fool you, but he still sounds like Dickey Betts.

Well, hell yes porkchop! That's what we came here for, wonderful playing all around! I focus on on Dickey's lead playing SO much, really cool for me seeing him drop down and play rhythm chords during his vocal parts, don't know why that caught my eye, great version I thought.............have a good weekend.....joe

Dickey on a Strat and still sounds like Dickey.

Dickey played that Ibanez as a backup in 1981 and uses it on the motel room jam on the 1982 DVD of the Florida concert. Dickey seemed to use it often in the 1980's when he played with country artists and especially Chatlie Daniels apparently because of the line "People down in Georgia come from near and far to hear Richard Betts picking on that RED guitar". When Charlie wrote that Dickey's number one was a sunburst Les Paul with zebra pickups. During the first Great Southern in the 1970's when billed with Charlie Daniels I noticed twice Dickey didn't use Goldie but one of his Sunburst Les Paul guitars that was apparently with him on tour as a backup. Not the one with zebra pickups though.

ES-335. Sounds like Dickey. Tone a touch different. This is such a beautiful solo by Dickey.
