Here is a really nice "Midnight In Harlem," a particularly moody version, from the Budokan, 4/1/16.

Derek's raga intro really has lovely fat tone and serious deliberation (with a little something for the DTB fans), and the same is true of his outro solo; he really plays at a measured pace here, never getting frantic, really emphasizing the melodic instead.

I particularly like the end of the solo, where he adds a soft segue from the climax to the return to the fingerpicking pattern. Great recording / video.

* I finally figured it out. That melody line in that soft segue is from the coda of "Layla."

Awesome pick-up. Wish I had the ear for music that people like you have. I sent this to a buddy who is similarly blessed. Thanks for posting link.

PS: I didn't provide the answer, just the hint of what part to listen to. My guess is he'll pick it up.
