It is a placeholder listing, there are NO tickets going for 100 grand nor any seller who think that it will sell. That is why its listed at that price.

Not even for ten front row seats with a pound of California's finest and a bong made out of Jerry's skull thrown in! 😛

The 116K tickets may not be real, but apparently there is a real person who bought 3-day VIP passes for $7,000 on Stubhub or some such site.

I'm sure the prices will come back down to Earth eventually, but not much. Good old-fashioned supply and demand is at work here. There are more people who want to go to these shows than Soldier Field could possibly hold. Despite the size of the venue, these will end up being some of the toughest tickets I can remember.

And to think some people didn't think these shows would sell out!

They keep hinting that there may be some simulcasts, maybe in theaters or pay for view on TV - I'd rather sit at home and watch than pay more than $200 for a nosebleed ticket.........although it may be fun to go downtown the night of the fireworks and listen to the show along the lakefront..... with a million other people............

Honestly....That's just obscene....to each his own.....Then again I think any show over $25 is just obscene....It's been awhile since I've been to any big shows.....

Trust me Billy, while it sounds cool, you do NOT want to be downtown for the Saturday Fourth of July show (Friday and Sunday would be okay). That is when the city does the holiday show and it is a mess every year. Given the fact that it is a Saturday and with all of the Deadheads in tow, you couldn't pay me to go down there. I will gladly watch the fireworks from my roof and jam to some Dead tunes. Hopefully they do some kind of simulcast as has been rumored and I can put a flat screen on the roof and watch from the comfort of my rocking chair and cooler. 😉

During the World Cup last year, there was simulcasts of the USA games in nearby Grant Park, where some of the city's major music festivals are held. I have to wonder if there are some plans to do something "ticketed" within the city.

Didn't Taste of Chicago get moved out of the 4th weekend some time ago?

That is actually my plan. I have a lot of time to work on the details. I am really hoping they do some kind of simulcast as I think I can get two flat screens on each side of the roof. Smile 😉

There is a rumor I've heard (that I don't believe) that there will be a $50 "walking pass" for the museum campus that weekend. I don't believe the city will be that crass, but I'd wager they will find a way to make money beyond parking.

...seems a bit overpriced to me,considering Bob Weir was too sick & cancelled half his shows last year and Jerry Garcias gone.

Bobby went to rehab/treatment again that's why the shows were canceled.

I think things for this show are getting a little out of hand. I know being there is going to be something special but Jerry is gone Pig Pen is gone so the GD is partially gone. I bet there will be a DVD, CD and who knows what else.

The GD50 DVD release has been confirmed and will be entitled "30 minutes of beautiful lyrics ruined by poor vocals and 180 minutes of noodling extravaganza".

Come on Dutchfan, that isn't really accurate.

There are going to be 3 shows, so it will be more like 90 minutes of beautiful lyrics ruined by 9 hours of off-key singing and meandering noodling 😉

If you are going to trash the gig, at least get your facts straight Smile

I gave Postcards of the Hanging its final shot a few days ago. It might be my least favorite Dead release ever.

Shawn, scalp your tickets. I could use some support for the rooftop.

Doesn't pay for itself after all. 😉

The wife (shut up Sang) asked me how upset I was about not getting tickets. I said not at all. Other than Hornsby (who I don't care about), I have seen them all.

Should be an interesting weekend here! Smile

I'd have a hard time marketing tickets and trying to make a big profit off of them.

So make a mediocre profit. I am an accountant. Heck, I'm good at this stuff. Let me broker the deal!

Now, if some guy with a deadhead sticker on a Cadillac offered me crazy money for tickets, it would be hard to turn down.
