Dead & Co. Inquiry

I'm trying to give the band a fair shot, but the shows I have heard sound distant and/or boomy. This is no slight on the tapers who have created them because I am one of your biggest fans. I know it must get tough in larger rooms.
Question: are they releasing boards of any of the run, or has there been a particular grab of a show that sounds better than others? I'm sure I haven't heard them all yet.
Thank you in advance and thanks again to all tapers. You have made my life much richer.

Tomorrow night there will be a free stream of there show. I haven't seen anything about SBD's being released.

Thanks so much. I will plan on it. Maybe we can get a thread going here in real time for those listening/watching.

I'm missing the show at the Verizon Center in DC tonight. I couldn't convince myself to pull the trigger on a ticket. I'd go last minute but I have my dear ol' Mum visiting from Georgia. Her last night here so we are going to dinner.
I'm very interested in seeing how Oteil plays and really want to see what Mayer is bringing so I'll be tuned in to the stream tomorrow.
Pretty cool that they are streaming for free. The reviews I've read have all been positive. I'm looking forward to the stream.

This recording from 10/29 ain't too shabby: https://archive.org/details/GD2015-10-29
Joebeacon got a pretty good recording at MSG on 10/31, 30 feet from the stage: https://archive.org/details/Dc20151031.14.eyesOfTheWorld (Don't let the URL fool you, it's the link to the whole show)

Just a heads up that countdown clock at the site puts the start time (of the broadcast at least) at 7:30 est. I'm looking forward to this. Thanks again for the link.

Been watching or attending Phil every night-time to give this a chance...looking forward!

Coming on stage now at 7:52.
Shakedown Street
Bob is sounding a tad rough. He still sounds better than me (and I try...I really try). Band on the whole sounds good. Oteil is so clear in the mix. Damn, he is playing this funky.

Hoteliers sounding nice-very percussive...different interpretation of the bass part...interesting.
Nice groove on this....

Excellent-great energy.
Mayer-gets it and the boys have accommodated his blusier instincts and Oteil and Mayer have driven a much funkier sound...very very nice so far...

John Mayer is singing completely differently from what I've heard. I understand he had some throat issues, and I don't know if it's related, but this sounds better than his high-pitched Stevie Ray imitation.
I'm enjoying this. Loving Oteil's p,laying.

I may have spoke too soon.
Thus far (I think...)
Shakedown Street >
I Need a Miracle >
Cold Rain and Snow
Tennessee Jed
They Love Each Other
Jack Straw
What a killer solo in T Jed. Oteil is just killing it the way he supported that solo.

This sounds great to me. Anything with Oteil makes me happy. And this webcast is the best I've ever experienced in terms of continually streaming. Got the YouTube link on the home theater and not a single blip so far. Awesome!

Everything is first class - great feed, fine sound, and the band seems to be really tight. Thanks for the link!

I'm just putting it on. Gotta walk the dogs. I'll be able to watch more of the second set.

Outstanding despite Weir's being off key on jack straw...
Oteil is tremendous,so is Mayer...
Great first set...

I am into the Glenfiddich. Matters are deteriorating rapidly on this end. Enjoying myself, though.
Man, Bobby's songs seem to have a lot of chords.

Wish I would have seen this earlier - Jack Straw was great - Oteil sounds very good - Chromecast is a great thing.............

I'm guessing there will be a Morning Dew in the second set. Don't feel like that's going too far out on a limb.
Any other calls?

I just refreshed and realized it was on. Ahhhh. What did I miss in set II? Did they open with Help...?
[Edited on 11/8/2015 by Blooby]

Yes. They opened with Help and I've got to hand it to Mayer. He ripped that joint.

The Jerry purists must be keeling over right now.

Indeed!
Terrific second set so far.

Stream is not working very well. Keeps dropping out every minute or so. Tuned in in time to catch "Jack Straw," close to an hour(?) of set break, and "Help/Slip." Tired of hitting refresh, going to bed.
Guess I'll just grab it in the morning...what I did see looked/sounded good. I don't think I give Mayer enough credit.

Nice dynamics in that last verse of Franklin's.

I'm not coming into this willingly. I don't think I can go in search of Dead 2.0.
That said, this is working. I don't know how far I'd travel or how much treasure I'd exchange.
I'm liking it more than Furthur.

Mayer...stellar playing...wow...man...

Still blown away by Oteil. I am zeroing in on him quite a bit.
I saw a few really good Furthur shows and saw some duds...same as The Dead, The Other Ones, and the original band. I'm sure this line-up will be similar. I'm just glad the music is still being played. I just take it as it comes and am trying to enjoy the moment.
I must say Mayer is interesting. He's throwing a lot of minor blues stuff where Jerry stayed major. It's certainly different.
This is a high point for me...this jam out of St. Stephen. A couple train-wrecky moments but really interesting..,.

No lines at bathroom on this couch tour! Back quickly for drums.

I realized that I do not have a link from my TV to my stereo when I use Chromecast. My new order to Amazon for another digital optical cable will solve that problem for the future.........
