If you are going for a procedure that requires general anesthesia, ketamine is usually the first thing they give you to start the process. It's a quite powerful sedative. In small doses, it has many medical uses. In moderate to large doses, it causes extremely intense dissociative hallucinations (much different than LSD or psylocibin). In the matter of overdose, you literally cannot move. There is no antidote for overdose. Club drug lingo is "Special K" or a million other terms. All the famous psychonauts experimented and wrote on it.

To answer the thread question, I went to Cincy and Deer Creek. I'm also doing the Sunday Alpine Valley show.

I saw the Mayer Trio years ago at Crossroads, so I learned quite some time ago Mayer can really play, even though he says stupid things and makes funny faces.

I'm not exactly a fan of Mayer's vocal stylings, but musically this band sounds great. At times, there are vocal harmonies that actually work, which is really refreshing for so many songs these guys play. Oteil's not Phil, but we all know how amazing he is.

This band has chemistry. Mayer and Oteil have a connection, and it seems there is an effort to get the tempos up compared to Fare Thee Well. Bobby is energized, and he looks good. Hell, Billy looks like he's having a ball!

I'd encourage the curious to check out this tour.

I went Friday night. I wasn't impressed. 1st set didn't get moving until "lost sailor/saint". 2nd set started well, but by "new speedway" I was done. I left at the start of "space/drums". mayer had a few bright spots, but not enough for me. I had a hard time finding the groove. things just seemed to plod along. maybe I'm getting old.

Of the four sets I saw, I thought the second set at Riverbend was the best.

I thought the tempos were improved over fare thee well, but I agree things could be picked up a bit more.

Ketamine is a disassociative drug, like PCP, and DXM.

I have never used any of those drugs; but I know a lot of people who have and I grew up with a lot of people who did. Nobody ever got violent, went crazy, or flipped out like you hear about people doing with PCP.

PCP, DXM, and K would just make them get relaxed and at moderate or high doses made movement impossible and apparently they would go into another reality according to friends of mine who used drugs like those.

I'm not a Mayer fan, and I'm saving money so I'm not going to any shows.

I saw them in Charlotte two weeks ago... really, really exceeded my expectations.

Two songs into the first set I was sold on John Mayer. He's really good.

I watched that CBS Sunday morning interview with he and Bob Weir and he's loving his new gig.

I saw them in StL in November. Much better than I expected. I knew John Mayer could play but didn't expect him to fit in as well as he did. Very tight band. Jeff Chimenti on keys is incredible. And Oteil is, well, Oteil. He was having a lot of fun. And the crowd was loving him.

Saw them last night in Bristow,Va. They are not to be missed. Oteil looked very cool with his mohawk and Brian Farmer t-shirt. John Mayer and Oteil take this music to another level.

Saturday and Sunday at Citi Field. Then at Fenway Park in July both shows.

Went to SPAC - first time being there for me. First set was slower, hit & miss. Second set had a faster pace and was rock solid start to finish. The vibe was incredible.

I'm headed to Fenway as well.
