David Hood Remembers Jimmy Johnson

Great words and memories from legendary bassist, David Hood on the passing of a fellow "Swamper". I love the Skynnyrd story!
I once had a very nice conversation with a stranger who turned out to be Jimmy Johnson. This was about 10 years ago, so he did not look like a rock star or even a guitar player. This comes a week after losing fellow Muscle Shoalsman, Donnie Fritts. God rest 'em both.

Some of the stuff on the DA anthologies are indeed w/3 guitars (re Skynyrd comment), including the Otis Rush song You Reap What You Sow - a session that was produced by Mike Bloomfield & Nick Gravenites
Good post indeed on Hey Jude, & after listening to Wilson’s take of Born To Be Wild - X2 there as well

Sorry to hear that. So much great history by the Swampers. Great stuff. Super musicians.
