Daved’s Newest CANCER Update

Hi, everyone.
I have, hopefully, completed my treatments.
Now I am enduring the affects of radiation. Not pleasant at all.
The doctor says this is to be expected and will last about a month or more.
My neck is burned to which I apply lotion several times a day to prevent blistering and dryness.
My throat is severely raw, swollen, and very painful.
I have been prescribed Lidocaine gel and Oxycodone for the pain.
Swallowing is at times a real struggle. I must take very small bites, chew it thoroughly, and swallow slowly and carefully to avoid chocking and coughing which intensifies the sensitivity and pain.
In addition, my tastebuds are out of whack causing food and drink to have a nasty, bitter taste.
I also tire and weaken very quickly.
Not to mention the occasional waves of nausea.
As I said, not fun at all. But doctor says it will eventually go away.
So hopefully I am now on the final leg.
I have an appointment/exam with my radiologist on October 10th to see how my recovery is coming along.
Then I go before a panel of doctors on October 25th to determine how successful this whole ordeal has been and where we go from there.
Hopefully back to work. I have been in touch and updated my employers. My job is secure and waiting for me when I am able to return.
Once I get the release to go back to work, the plan is for a temporary part-time schedule for 2-4 weeks to see how I hold up and then back to my full time position.
So I’m still looking at about another 8 weeks before I start to see any income from my employment.
The GoFundMe account has been invaluable and a godsend in reducing financial stress as I go thru this.
I can’t thank you ABB family and fans enough for helping us out.
My offer for free picks still stands and I continue to be happy to send an assortment to anyone who does, or has, donated. I have already sent out several packs to donors and have plenty more I am willing to share.
An earlier update will give you all the particulars and choices.
Just let me know what you would like and where to send them.
I may be reached directly at dasitch@aol.com if you have any questions.
Thank you all so much for your support.
Sincerely, Daved and Kimberly

Keep fighting Daved!

Yes keep fighting. Sounds as if you are beating it. I know a lady who is assistant principal at an elementary school and she developed breast cancer in summer of 2017 and missed all of last year. She is back at work now. Saw her often in her yard with her big hat because her hair fell out.

Hang in there Daved, you'll be fine.
