Dan posted a note that it is time for him to give up life on the road and touring. A few more shows in Europe this year and that is it. I expect he will continue to put out music, but boy is he great to see live. With Homemade Sin, The Yayhoos, saw him playing in Allison Moorers band one time, great shows playing with Bobby Keys as the Suffering Bastards, the definition of great rock & roll. I am glad I got to see him play live as often as I did and hope he enjoys the well earned rest, relaxation and home studio rockin’!

I googled - he was born in 1953, so he's around 65-66. I guess that is retirement age, but he is such a rocker that I did not foresee this announcement. I'm not well versed in his work per se, but what I know, I love.

Dan is great. Never had the chance to see him live. Would have been interested in seeing him with Allison. Did not know he toured with her. If I remember correctly he was diagnosed with leukemia a couple of years ago.

Always liked this cover.

Great live performer and songwriter. Dan had cancer a couple of years ago and made his living touring Europe. The schedule there is brutal with few breaks so it takes its toll. Would love to see him again in the States before he retires but the truth is, he plays such small venues so financially it may not make sense.

He played a small bar here in Chattanooga 2 weeks ago. Hate that I skipped out on going now.
