Let's hope for a speedy and full recovery. Thank God, his illness is treatable. Dan Baird is the real deal!

Unfortunately just had my Yayhoos and Dan & Homemade Sin tickets refunded.

Read Dan's post on Roscoe's website and hope for a speedy recovery for this great American rocker!!

He is also one nice and funny dude!

Amen and could not have said it better, he is the " real deal."
I never understand why he and his music never took off more, especially in the States. He seems to have more of a bigger fan base in Europe. I have always enjoyed his music and Buffalo Nickel is still one of my fav's.

Was lead singer for the Georgia Satellites.

He's really big in Europe for some reason.

I've read that more often. About being big in Europe. Well, he isn't big / popular over here at all. But in the club circuit in Europe (especially Netherlands, Belgium, germany, UK etc.) the promoters have kept on booking him and fans stayed loyal and kept going to shows Dan Baird was evolved in. Simply because he always delivers. Always seems to have a blast on stage and is having fun off stage as well. Sometimes he's booked on a smaller stage during a summer festival but in the club circuit we are talking about 40 - 200 people a night. No "big money". I guess Dan and his bandmembers dig the vibe over here and have established a very good working relation with a bunch of promoters and clubs. Although they were once victim of a big scam in Switzerland and lost all their equipment. On a side note: also all his cd's are worth checking out. Released about 3 in 2 years time. Certainly a prolific song writer. Always delivers. If his career would have started in the Fifties a whole lot a bands would have kept playing his songs.

Maybe he isn't "big" in Europe but he plays WAY more there than he does here in The States. Several months ago he came here to Chicago and played two nights at a good sized club and sold out almost immediately. I was bummed as I got shut out.
