Cream of The Crop

Not enough attention is being given to this new live release . 2003-2004 Brother's remind me of the 1993-1994 Brother's . Back Where it All Begins created a huge spark for the 93-94 Brother's and Hittin The Note had the same huge impact on the 2003-2004 Brother's . The new live release compilation, brings back the excitement of that time period for The Band . The new songs mixed in with some new covers and originals that hadn't been played in a long time made for exciting live shows whether you were at The Beacon or at the sheds in the summer time .
Warren has a done a great job with the song selection , sequencing and sound quality of these new discs . Mountain Jam , Wasted Words, Black Hearted Woman , Gambler's Roll along with Who to Believe , Woman Across The River , Desdemona are just a few of the tunes that resonated immediately when I heard the album. The Instant Lives from that era never came close to the sound quality that is delivered on Cream of The Crop .
I'm hoping next year for the 50th anniversary of The Band somebody put's something special together so we can celebrate again how special and significant The Brother's remain .

I second all of that.

Great release covering a great time period for the Brothers. We had a couple page thread on it that dropped off the front page:

Oteil posted about it on Facebook too saying basically that it was great to relive that period and how fortunate he said he felt to be a part of the ABB for so long.....but it also brought back a lot of pain/emotion of losing Butch and Gregg.
