Has anyone bought this commercial release of 8-26-71 A&R? How is the sound on it compared to the previous bootleg versions? I have 3 or 4 versions/remasters of this. Was hoping that the commercial version is a significant improvement. However, the sound on the bootlegs is quite good.

I always thought the bootleg sounded great, but the remaster is a definite improvement. More separation and an overall higher quality sonically. You can compare samples off of iTunes or SoundCloud if you search for them.

I agree with Bob.

I didn't think I would buy this as I've had a great board of this for years and have listened to it more than plenty.

Once I heard the samples on iTunes though o bought it. The sound quality puts the boots to shame to the point of making it sound new again.

My only complaint is, like the boot, Greggs organ and the overall mix still isn't as good as it could be on Liz Red but that's sort of not picking

I've had a boot copy for maybe ten years. It's such an incredible show, and hearing the comments here regarding the sound, I MUST buy it!

I played the traded copy and the official release back to back track by track. Yes the official release is a significant improvement. Especially through headphones. Guitars and drum kits are seperated so one of each is mostly in the left or right channel. You can really hear Jaimoe much more clearly.

yes the release is smoking!! I have multiples of the boot..like new York city blues, bottleneck meltdown, stormy Monday from watchtower...and those are all good...even great but the official release is an improvement...I am happy to see this released

OK that settles it. been debating whether to order the vinyl of this one. But if Charlie Bradner says it's worth it, I'm in!

We can only hope. The press release with quotes from Butch was vague in that it mentioned that there were shows in the vault, but no info as to if they would be released at some point.
