Says "full concert" but it's about a 21 minute clip. My best guess is this was a TV broadcast. Whatever..............HOW PRECIOUS IT IS THAT THIS FOOTAGE EXISTS!!! Audio and video quality are both excellent.

Rod Evans (Deep Purple): Vocals, percussion
Larry Reinhardt (Iron Butterfly, The Second Coming): Guitar
Lee Dorman (Iron Butterfly): Bass
Bobby Caldwell (Johnny Winter Band): Drums

Good find! I didn't know Cptn Beyond original lineup was Rod Evans of Deep.Purple, and guitarist and bassist from Iron Butterfly.

Yes, Evans sang Purple's first hit, Hush. But according to a Ritchie Blackmore documentary I saw recently on AXS, when Blackmore first heard Robert Plant he decided he needed someone who could scream like that. Evans was dumped in favor of Ian Gillan. Huge bummer for Evans who was a damn good vocalist.

Larry Reinhardt was the other guitarist in The Second Coming along with Dickey Betts until Dickey left to join ABB.

Captain Beyond was an all-star lineup in my opinion..........

It's too bad there doesn't seem to be much in the way of decent quality sounding live recordings from Captain Beyond. Other than that video, the few live recordings I've heard over the years were all poor quality bootlegs that I couldn't get into because of the lousy sound.

They were a great band during their brief time together.
