Wow I wish I had the $$$ to bid on the reels of tape. I wonder how they auction, as one lot? Might go for a large sum. Kind of light on information as to what is on. I have spent about all I can buying reels from a retired sound engineer. I have 6 vintage Allman shows & getting one more, many from FM broadcast (tapes the FM stations used so source is called "Pre-FM") others are soundboard tapes. I wanted to nab them before the disappeared or fell in stupid hands. He wanted $100 per reel, most shows are 2-3 reels. So gets spendy. I got him down a bit cheaper, but it still was a big expenditure for lil me. Eventually I would like to contact band if they want for use. Back to this auction, just WOW. I would think this is for the big boys, 20K or more (WAG) could be 100K (?)

Also, red reel tape shown is kinda ugly looking, tape color and dirt. What is cool is sound engineers must have used ripped off masking tape on reels, mine have that also, with encoded cryptic stuff on along with "ABB"....

I'm sure there are some treasures in there, I hope they dribble out to the masses.
Some 15 years ago, I remember a friend of a friend was hawking some Capitol Theatre film reels from the Passaic NJ shows. I pondered but he wanted too much and the film spools were huge. I was told the projectors were antiquated and monsterous. I didn't know enough (still don't), but I thought of the folks that have graced that stage. Some full shows have dribbled on thier facebook page. Stevie Ray Vaughan, ABB, & others. Many more canbe unearthed hopefully.
