Really psyched about seeing him tonight. I also really like Quinn's playing, been seeing him for years with Buddy and without.
Buddy's autobiography is really tops and I highly recommend it. One of the best musical biographies out there. His constant touring at his age is a gift to us all.

The few times I saw Buddy he would play parts of a bunch of songs but not all the way through for much of the show. Is this still part of his performance style?

That does happen sometimes because he has so much stuff in his catalog. He gives a lively show and his lead guitar player is very good when he is highlighted. Buddy is a good entertainer, he sings beautifully, makes funny jokes and always plays walking through the crowd even when folks are crowding him and hovering over him. A very gracious talented man!

I feel like he's lost quite a bit with age like all guitarist do. Not one of my favorite blues artist but I respect him. Saw him at his club a few years back.

His book is REALLY good.

I have tix for Buddy Guy and the Sons and Daughters of the Blues for the City Winery in NY on 5/21 and I got an email saying that the show is postponed and they're attempting to reschedule. I was looking forward to it. It's all the kids of the blues legends. I'm glad it's not a health issue for Buddy. The way it's been going I assumed the worst initially.

I've seen Buddy probably 10 times in the last 20 years. It is always worth the price of admission and effort to get there every time, repetition and repeats be dammed. I'll take the same ole stories about Howlin Wolf any day. The main thing that I was always struck me at his shows was how Buddy controls the room. He does not come out and demand it, or ask for, he just takes it. There is never a lot of side chatter going on, no facebooking, he just takes everyone and commands their attention. A true showman in the ways of the more subtle "old school". It is going to be a sad day when we lose him. Seems it will signal an end to many eras.

Buddy was on fire last night! He had more energy than I have seen in a while and I see him at least once a year. Great energetic playing and still goes up and down the aisles even though folks crowd him too much and someone spilled their drink all over him. Unbelievable for 80!
Quinn continues to improve and delight. Threw a nice long segment of Liz Reed into one of his original songs. Fantastic showmen!!
