Haven't seen much to dream about lately, and the Peach Fest lineup made me cringe. So being its the Friday before Christmas I thought I would throw out a dream Wanee lineup and hopefully it happens, at least in my sleep.

Tedeschi Trucks Band

Widespread Panic

Gov't Mule

Oteil and Friends

Jimmy Herring and the Five of 7

Jaimoe's Jazzzzz Band

Little Feat

Scott Sharrard's Band

Pat Bergeson and Friends

North MS All Stars

Al Paul interviews

Doyle Bramhall II

Randhall Bramlett

Chuck Leavell does whatever he wants Smile

Bill Evans

Ron Halloway

Les Brers with Duane on 2nd kit

Blackberry Smoke

Marcus King and Drew Smithers

Big Band of Brothers orchestra

Audley Freed

Devon's Touring Band

Duane, Johnny, Berry's Band

Jimmy Hall

Jeff Sipe Trio

Jeff Coffin's Band

and who am I missing?

Whew that felt good hah. Have a Merry Christmas everyone

Cringe? I thought the Peach lineup looked pretty stellar. Nice to see TTB back there. Goose has really climbed the ranks quickly.

@jszfunk I knew a guy who once hung with Uncle John's Scrotum ... said they were real dicks.

I agree....Pretty decent line-up in my opinion.  Bring back Wanee, a jam band based Mountain Jam, AND Moe.down....And all will be right in the world...

I really like Ghost Light.

Kimock always fits a hippie fest or anywhere.

Overall a good lineup, but looks about like every other big jam festival. I am more partial to the family vibes that Wanee always seemed to have in relation to the band, not to mention much closer being in the South. Random afternoon shows with Jack Pearson Band, DTB back in the day, Mule before the ABB, etc, etc. The Peach does look like a good lineup especially when considering its proximity to some of the major cities. For me though, something about Jack or Derek sitting in w/ Mule for Stratus with the wind blowing through the spanish moss soothes the soul Smile /p>

The same kind of vibe existed at Mountain Jam the first 12, 13 years of its existence.  Same random sit in and jams, its proximity to Utica, Syracuse, Albany, Buffalo, NYC. etc.  And of course Woodstock, NY was just a few miles away.

And there was something special about sitting on the side of Hunter Mountain in the middle of the Catskills on a beautiful sunny late May early June day and night.  It was a great festival up until Warren dropped his personal affiliation and partnership with the promoters.  After which the line up's in subsequent years became a bit more mainstream and less appealing to me personally....

I truly miss what Mountain Jam once was....

I was a Wanee regular, but haven't been to Peach. I know a lot of folks who did all 3 (Mt Jam, Wanee, Peach) and say Peach is a legit, great festival (even without spanish moss). The last 1 or 2 Wanees were pretty weak. Most of my Wanee friends were only coming back to see each other, the lineup was no longer a draw. Other than Jaimoe, most of the ABB family bands had moved on to doing just Peach. I'm not sure if that was due to Live Nation taking over, but I haven't heard anyone say anything good about Live Nation. They've tried to reboot it with Suwanee Rising, but it just didn't seem the same...

But I am finally ready to pull the Peach Fest trigger, this year might be the year.

One thing to consider with the Peach fest is the layout and proximity of the various stages.  I’ve never been and so only know this from two dear friends who have attended past Peach festivals.

According to them the distance between stages sucks and can be a detriment to catching specific acts depending on the actual schedule of their appearances.  Due mostly to distance but also because the venue is very hilly.

My one friend only attended one Peach fest because he hated the venue.  He was in his late 50’s at the time so age could be a factor....He also attended 4 Wanee’s and about 8 or so Mt. Jams and every Moe.down.  So he was a bit spoiled as these festivals were far more fan friendly in terms of layout.

Not Wanee, but there are music gigs starting back up at the Middle Georgia Raceway.
