Made in Mexico model 1960s "road worn" (which are usually pretty darn awreet) - sunburst from Brian Farmer's personal collection. Asking price is only $550.00!

Looks like a nice guitar!

Alan, you beat me to the punch. I was going to buy it.

So I looked at the strat for $350 and the guy at the store really talked me out of it so I passed. He said he thinks it is something Brian just pieced together from whatever he had. The guy said it plays well enough but it isn't that great.

Apparently the money is going to Brian's kids. The guy at the store said the kids wanted to do it. I hope they keep one each. There are some really cool ones.

Yeah, there is a TON of stuff on there! I was thinkin of makin a little road trip to see how a few of them play... you can tell some of them are projects and some look very nice. There are some really interesting ones in the bunch, like this dean cadillac! http://guitars.com/inventory/ez5320-2005-dean-cadillac

Thanks Lee... I never would have bought this Strat sight unseen, but I wanted one of Farmer's - and this one has his tag on it, as he does on all of Warren's guitars.

Alan, congrat's on the strat!

Stratocasters are the original Frankenstein guitars! I'm sure you'll be able to tweak it to your own personal tastes. That Farmer had built and worked on this one gives it mojo and cred'! I read where Jack Pearson said that many of his friends don't get what's so special about that Squire that he plays. I'm sure that a Farmer owned and tweaked strat will become a treasure to you!

Rusty, I have zero concern about regretting this purchase. I will treasure it as a momento of my friend no matter what and hopefully love playing it as well... I may just get Warren and Derek to sign it as well.. I've never done anything like that, but it feels appropriate in this case.
