Brent Sibley -AKA SkyPonyDogBoy

A post on Facebook says that brother Brent Sibley has passed on. Brent was among other things, a fine guitarist. He loved the Allman Brothers' Band. He put a lot of study into learning the music and style of both Dickey and Duane. He created the annual, Jam for Duane festival that brought folks to Gadsden from some pretty far away places.
His son, Forest died in service to his country. I know this was heartbreaking for him.
I had some of the best times of my life at those JFD events. I haven't seen Brent in over 10 years but I think of him and those great times often. I will certainly miss him.

Sad news. R.I.P.

Does anybody know of any arrangements or services for Brent?
I haven't been able to find out much. I'm not on Facebook and it's been too many years since I was in the loop. I have been able to determine that Brent's full name is Lowell Brent Sibley and that he was killed in a traffic accident on I65 south of Birmingham. I also found a "crowd funding" site that seems more focused on Brent's involvement with veterans following his son's passing.
If anybody has any information, please feel free to PM me.
Peace and love,
R

Very sad news. RIP Brent.

Here's Brent's obituary:
As with so many of my southern friends and relatives, it is fair to say that Brent and I differed over certain political and social philosophies. Fortunately, these differences were overshadowed by a shared love of music. Otherwise, our relationship was always civil. Brent was undeniably a fine guitar player. I still can't believe that he's gone.

+1 Rusty. If there's one word to describe Brent, it's "gonzo". Whatever his passions, beliefs, hobbies, feelings, etc. he was all in; no middle ground. Fortunately, there was the music to come back to. Last year, I posted a picture of my son on a Dickey FB page and Brent replied. He got a kick out of it and was real proud of Ry. We had some fun conversations. When Dickey died, he was kicking around a tribute show. It would have been fun.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I always felt like he and Brother Buppalo were two sides of the same coin-one who saw everything about the band through Duane’s eyes while Brent channeled Dickey, especially as a player. Anyway another great brother gone
