Good stuff and some nice Duane content.

Good read, very cool the mention of Donna Thatcher, later Donna Godchaux, as a backup singer

great read, thanks
I love the Boz Skaggs album and Boz Scaggs and Band

I remember being excited when I heard he had a new one coming out. Then I heard Silk Degrees. I know I'm in the minority, but I never cared much for that one.

That Boz Skaggs album with Duane is killer. I imagine everyone here loves Loan Me a Dime.

Loan Me a Dime is a great track. Hard to believe Duane was so young and playing with such taste and fire. Another favorite of mine is Finding Her. Love the end when you hear the fade back in. Floors me everytime.

I wish they would release the unedited Loan Me A Dime track - story is that is was 21minutes long. Never seen that confirmed though.

Please Be With Me A Song For My Father Duane Allman" quotes Boz Scaggs as saying "the first time we did it, it lasted twent-five minutes and everybody thought it was a gas, they trouped back in and did it again, and we ended with about forty minutes of 'Loan Me A Dime' and we wanted to use at least twenty minutes of it, but we had to use the shorter version of it, but that music is in the can somewhere in Muscle Shoals, and Duane was really rocking' out.

Yeah I read that too. I remember many, many years ago a dj on Philly's WMMR named Michael Tearson (who knew his stuff) mentions a longer version was out there. I called the station once to ask him about it and he had no idea what I was talking about. Ahh the 70s.

But that extended version would have been a great addition to the Duane box set.
