Just left the Dylan show at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago, stunning, an extremely well played bunch of tunes, ranging from spooky, ominous blues to jumpy swing. Both Bob and his Band in exceptionally fine form. Great sound and stage presentation........Peace.....joe

That is good to hear...literally.

I am seeing him at the Beacon in December. The only reason I bought tickets was because it is BOB. The last shows I saw were just awful but I can't not go for all he has given me.

It sure would be nice to see a great show from him. My last memorable night with him was the Roseland '94.

I was there Saturday night; he was in great form. Definitely more Jazz/C & W than his last tour where he rocked more on songs such as "Watchtower" and "Mr. Jones." and I missed that some. Felt the pacing/sound lacked variety.

I just happened to be in Chicago; going to see the show again in NYC in three weeks

I get alot from reading the website Expecting Rain with its daily everything Bob fix including the setlists, reviews, and links to discussion and other hard core Dylan freaks.

It's particularly helpful if you want to see YouTubes, follow each phase of the never ending tour, get a sense of his voice, band changes, style of music...basically the stuff an Allmans fan can find here!

So,the beacon show will be the same, although for hard core fans its never the same, kinda like the instrumentals done by the ABB.The phrasing, the energy of the band,Bob's piano playing/interaction with Charlie...on and on....

The expectation for this tour is same setlist each nite, but the encore changed. No more Blowing in the Wind and few "older" songs. The encore is from his next album, which will feature all Sinatra music with 1-3 other old time songs.Bob dipping into the music he grew up with. The band plays softly-it's not a rock concert. It's a performance from the master, still at the top of his game,a 73 year old artist still creating. For me,it's an honor to be in the same room and I've never been disappointed by a Dylan concert over many years....surprised,confused,but always exhilarated. He make you think, feel and his band is outstanding...Bob is creating something different here...each phase, every mood, people may or my not like, but he'll continue creating!

BTW,the new album was delayed by the release of The Complete Basement Tapes....just a wonderful Boxset following on the heels of Another Self Portrait...Dylan's bootleg series has brought a wealth of incredible material...

Blood on the Tracks may very well be next up!
